Career and Business Success

Career success and business success depend upon the impression you make on others. We can't help instant judgments about people. You know how they say "you only get one first impression." That's why we work so hard on a first-date, a job interview, or a presentation to a company, and also our websites.

The first time someone sees you (or hears you), or their first glance at your website or resume or business card, they form an opinion.

It's human nature. The reptilian brain wants to keep us safe and so we scan quickly. It's known to be a "sloppy" system, because it quickly differentiates what can either harm or help you and after that, there isn't a lot of thinking. There's no refinement to it. It's "down and dirty."

Now with emotional intelligence, we try to take advantage of all 3 brains. You note the initial impression, take it under advisement, and then you think about it, with the neocortex, or feel about it, with the limbic brain, or both.

However, the initial impression is very powerful.

I happened upon this website, since it arrived in my google alerts. If you were looking for a coach would you contact these people? TGIM Work-Life!
