Study: Belligerent chimp proves animals make plans

Study: Belligerent chimp proves animals make plans

Santino, a 31 year old alpha male in a zoo, shows cold calculated planning of aggression, collecting tools to use against "the enemy." He starts to build his cache of "weapons" in the morning and the around noon unleashes his weapons against visitors to the zoo.

From the article:

"It is normal behavior for alpha males to want to influence their surroundings ... It is extremely frustrating for him that there are people out of his reach who are pointing at him and laughing," Osvath said. "It cannot be good to be so furious all the time."

One reason why we learn emotional intelligence. No, it is not good to be furious all the time. 5 minutes of anger suppresses the immune system for up to 8 hours.
